This banknote set consists of 7 pieces of Roda notgeld banknotes in 25 and 50 pfennig denominations. These paper bills are part of the Faust series issued in 1921 by the City of Roda in Altenburg which is a Federal state of Thuringia. The banknotes highlight the story of Doctor Faustus by German author and playwright Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The banknotes are in German and have an Historia von Doctor Johan Fausten on the obverse design. The reverse of the notes bears an illustration of various scenes of the story. These themed emergency banknotes are in uncirculated condition.
