The Romania 1,000 Lei Banknote was issued by the National Bank of Romania in 1998. It has a color combination of blue, yellow, brown, and purple. On its obverse is the coat of arms of Romania, a lily flower, the BNR monogram, a quill, and a portrait of Mihai Eminescu. The reverse depicts lime and blue flowers, the ancient columns in Histria on the Black Sea coast, and the BNR monogram. The banknote contains a solid security thread with a demetallized BNR 1000 and a registration device in the form of a butterfly. It also has a watermark that reveals Mihai Eminescu and a tilting BNR. It is 140 x 61 mm in size. This particular paper bill is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
