Reviews:

This Romania 2,000 Lei Banknote from 1999 was issued to commemorate the total solar eclipse visible in Romania on August 11, 1999. Its obverse side features the national emblem, a sun printed with a metameric ink, a BNR monogram, and the solar system. The reverse side features the transit of the total solar eclipse on August 11, 1999, over the map of Romania. The note is 143 x 63 mm in size and does not contain any security threads however when placed under a UV light, a watermark shadow image of a BNR monogram is visible. The note comes in a special commemorative folder and is the first polymer banknote issued in Europe. Its also the first banknote in the world to use Innovias WinDOE, a diffractive optical element feature.
