The Romania 50,000 Lei Banknote was issued by the National Bank of Romania in 2003, printed on polymer. The banknote has a color combination of purple, violet, blue, brown, and orange. Its obverse features Romanian composer George Enescu, the coat of arms of Romania, a musical score in the underprint, a carnation flower, two musical notes, the BNR monogram, and a violin. The reverse depicts the bank monogram, musical notes in the underprint, the Romanian Athenaeum concert hall in Bucharest, the musical score from King Oedip opera, and a piano. The banknote contains a shadow image watermark of George Enescu and the bank monogram but it does not have a security thread. it is 155 x 70 mm in size and is signed by Mugur Constantin Isarescu and Ionel Nitu. This polymer banknote is in used condition.
