This uncirculated 50 Romanian leu note is a standard circulation banknote issued by the National Bank of Romania. It is a yellow, green, blue, and orange polymer note that is dated 01 January 2018/(20)20, bear the signatures of Ionel Nitu and Dr. Mugur Constantin Isarescu, and measures 133 mm x 72 mm. Its obverse side features the crowned coat of arms, the BNR monogram, an edelweiss flower (Leontopodium alpinum), an airplane propeller, the head of a mountain eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) in gold OVI, and a portrait of the pilot Aurel Vlaicu. Its reverse side shows the BNR monogram, the head of a mountain eagle, an airplane motor, and the Vlaicu II airplane. Though the note is made of polymer, it has security features including a starburst registration device, a simulated solid security thread, and a shadow image of Aurel Vlaicu and the BNR monogram.
