The Romania 500,000 Lei Banknote was issued by the National Bank of Romania in 2000, printed on polymer. It has hints of yellow, green, blue, and orange. Its obverse side contains an edelweiss flower (Leontopodium alpinum), a BNR monogram, an airplane propeller, a portrait of Aurel Vlaicu, a vertical stripe in gold OVI with a latent image of the Aurel Vlaicu monument and a BNR pattern. Its reverse side features the Vlaicu II airplane, motor, the head of a mountain eagle (Aquila chrysaetos), and a BNR monogram. Other security features include a simulated solid security thread, a shadow image of Aurel Vlaicu and a BNR monogram, and a starburst registration device. The note is 165 mm x 76 mm and is signed by Mugur Constantin Isarescu and Ionel Nitu. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated.
