The Russia 5,000 rubles banknote dated 1997 wasnt issued until 2006. This particular note is graded PMG 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty. It features the statue Nikolay Nikolayevich Muravyov-Amursky, a statesman who played a vital role in the Russian Empire expansion. The front side of the note also depicts a promontory tower in Khabarovsk and a commercial ship offshore. Other notable features on the banknotes obverse are the Coat of Arms of Khabarovsk and the OVI bank seal. The reverse of the banknote has an automobile bridge across the Amur river. This bridge that borders between Russia and China was negotiated by Muravyov. The Russia 5,000 rubles as a 3-mm wide windowed security thread with demetallized 5000. Additionally, the 157 x 69 mm banknote has a vertical 5000 watermark at the left and Nikolay Nikolayevich Muravyov-Amursky with electrotype 5000 at the right.
