The Russia 50 Rubles banknote is part of the 1997 issues. It is blue, brown, red, orange, and green in color and measures 150 x 65 mm. The obverse side shows a bank seal and a female figure symbolizing the Neva River at the foot of the South rostral column on Birzhevaya Square in Saint Petersburg with Peter and Paul Fortress in the background. The reverse side features the south rostral column and Old Saint Petersburg Stock Exchange building (now a naval museum). This banknote uses a 1-mm wide solid security thread with printed ЦБР 50 and contains a watermark with a Horizontal 50 (left) and a Peter and Paul Fortress (right) design.
