The Samoa 2 Tala is part of the 2003-2009 issues. It is brown, blue, and purple in color and measures 140 x 70 mm. The obverse side shows a village with straw huts, Mulivai Catholic Cathedral in Apia, buses on Beach Road, and palm trees; Malietoa Tanumafili II; and a kava bowl. The reverse side features a kava bowl, a Samoan family gathered on mats in a traditional Samoan fale (house), and the coat of arms. This TAP Authenticated banknote has no security thread and contains a shadow image watermark with a national flag design.
