The Saudi Arabia 1 Riyal Banknote was issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency in 2009 or 1430 in the Hijri Calendar. The light green banknote features King Abdullah on the obverse. It also depicts the front of the 7th-century Amawi gold dinar which is the first Islamic coin. The reverse of the paper bill displays the SAMA headquarters building and the coat of arms of Saudi Arabia consisting of two crossed swords and a palm tree. The note contains a windowed security thread with a demetallized SAMA 1 and a watermark that reveals King Abdullah, an electrotype 1, and Cornerstones. It is 133 x 63 mm in size and Muhammad Al-Jaser and Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz bin Abdullah al-Assaf. This particular paper bill bears a fancy serial number and has been graded 65 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
