The Saudi Arabia 1 Riyal banknote has the distinct feature of having a fancy 6-digit serial number prefixed by a 3-digit numeric code which starts from 001 onwards. This is unique to the 2007-2016 series, and this particular banknote released in 2012 has a light green color palette and is 133 x 63 mm in size. The front side features King Abdullah, the sixth king of Saudi Arabia, as well as the front of the first ever Islamic coin, the 7th-century Amawi gold dinar. The back features the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority building, the countrys central bank which was established in 1952, along with the national emblem. The 1 riyal denomination was eventually removed from circulation in 2016.
