It is part of the series of banknotes issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) from 2007 to 2016. Its obverse side shows a 7th-century Amawi gold dinar coin and a portrait of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Saud. Its reverse side shows a view of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency headquarters building and the coat of arms.
