The Saudi 1 Riyal banknote was released by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency in 2016 (AH1438). Featured on the front design of this light green banknote are King Abdullah and the obverse of the 7th-century Amawi gold dinar which is the 1st Islamic gold coin. The back of the note displays the SAMA headquarters building and the national emblem depicting two crossed swords and a palm tree. The banknote was printed by Thomas De La Rue and is 133 x 63 mm in size. Its security features include a windowed security thread with a demetalized SAMA 1 and a watermark that shows King Abdullah, an electrotype 1, and Cornerstones. This particular paper bill has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70 and is in uncirculated condition.
