This set comes with 6 pieces of notgeld banknotes released by the Municipality of Schierke in Saxony in 1921. These banknotes are in 10, 25, and 50 pfennig denominations. Common to their obverse design is an in-profile silhouette of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in an oval frame. The reverse depicts historic landmarks and town scenes. These emergency paper bills are in various sizes and were printed by Louis Koch in Halberstadt. Banknotes from this collection are in uncirculated condition.
