This banknote set comes with 8 pieces of Schleiz 50 Pfennig notgeld banknotes issued in 1921. These banknotes are part of the Bottger Series introduced by the City of Schleiz in Thuringia. The local bills have a unified obverse design featuring the coat of arms of the city at the center flanked by the denomination. The back of each of these banknotes depicts an in-profile image of German apprentice pharmacist Johann Friedrich Boettcher in a round frame. The design in the background varies on each note. These emergency paper bills are 90 x 60 mm in size and are in circulated condition.
