The 1 Scottish pound banknote features a portrait of Lord Archibald Campbell (also known as Lord Ilay), the first governor of the Royal Bank of Scotland on the obverse side. The reverse side features Edinburgh Castle. The notes watermark is Lord Ilay. When put under UV light, the left part of the castle and the central design of the note have a yellow fluorescence. The note measures 128 x 65 mm.
