The Scotland 20 Pound banknote was issued by the Bank of Scotland in 1999 to celebrate its 300th year of service. On the left of its obverse is a portrait of Scottish writer Sir Walter Scott and on the center is the bank emblem flanked by two women. The reverse of the note depicts a laboratory center scene, the medallion of Pallas, the bank emblem, and the Union Bank of Scotlands arms depicting a sailing ship. The Bank of Scotland building is also featured on the bottom left. The banknote was printed by De La Rue and bears a watermark that reflects an image of W Scott. With an above-average centering, this Scotland 20 Pound banknote has been graded 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
