This uncirculated 5-pound sterling note is a commemorative banknote issued by the Royal Bank of Scotland PLC for the 500th anniversary of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. It is a black, orange, blue, and purple note that is dated 01 July 2005, bears the signature of Fred Goodwin, and measures 135 mm x 70 mm. Its obverse side features Lord Ilay and a “500 YEARS/ THE ROYAL COLLEGE OF SURGEONS EDINBURGH/ 1505-2005” overprint. Its reverse side shows the Culzean Castle. The note does not have a security thread or a watermark.
