The Scotland 50 Pound banknote was released in 2005 by the Royal Bank of Scotland Public Limited Company. The note comes in green and brown combinations and features on the right of its obverse a portrait of the first governor Lord Ilay. It also shows a hologram on the bottom left. The reverse of the note depicts Inverness Castle and thistles. The 155 x 85 mm paper bill bears a security thread and a watermark that reflects an image of Lord Ilay when held up to a light source. This particular Scotland 50 Pound banknote comes in uncirculated condition.
