The Scotland - Clydesdale Bank PLC 50 Pounds Banknote was released by the Clydesdale Bank PLC in 2006. The note is in green, brown, purple, blue, yellow, and orange. The obverse features Adam Smith holding a book. It also shows a row of houses and the bank logo. The reverse depicts a sailing ship and agricultural and industrial implements including tongs, horseshoes, anvil, vise, hoe, plow, scythe, spinning wheel, a sheaf of wheat, and sickle. In the background are ships at a sea. The banknote contains a windowed security thread with a demetallized CLYDESDALE. It also bears a watermark that reveals a sailing ships pattern. The banknote is 155 x 85 mm in size and is signed by the bank Chief Executive David Thorburn. This particular paper bill is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
