The Scotland 1 Pound is graded PMG 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty. It was issued in 1994 to commemorate the 100th Death Anniversary of the renowned Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson who wrote Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Treasure Island, and Kidnapped. The front side of the banknote bears the portrait of the first governor Lord Ilay. The reverse of this bill depicts Stevenson and images of his life and masterpieces. Stevensons home in Samoa is also visible at the lower right of the note. The 128 x 65 mm bill has a portrait of Lord Ilay as its watermark.
