The Scotland 1 Pound banknote was released in 1997 by the Royal Bank of Scotland Public Limited Company to commemorate the 150th birth year of Alexander Graham Bell. The notes obverse displays the commemorative overprint which depicts Bells invention. It also features a portrait of Lord Ilay who served as the first governor of the bank. The reverse of the note portrays Alexander Graham Bell and his life and work. The banknote is 128 x 65 mm in size and bears a watermark that reflects an image of Lord Ilay. This particular Scotland 1 Pound banknote has been given a grade of 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
