This Sierra Leone 1,000 Leones Banknote was introduced in 2013 as part of the "clean notes" policy. The notes from this series has the same design with the preceeding issues however it was resized with enhanced security features and durability. The obverse side of the note depicts a portrait of Bai Bureh, a Sierra Leonean ruler and military strategist, the national emblem, and stone carvings. The reverse side depicts a telecommunication satellite dish. The note measures 135 x 67 mm and contains a windowed security thread with demetalized BSL 1000 to enhance its security features. It also has a Lion head watermark, electrotype 1000, and cornerstones. This particular Sierra Leone 1,000 Leones Banknote has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70 and is in uncirculated condition.
