The Sierra Leone 5,000 Leone banknote is part of the family of notes issued by the Bank of Sierra Leone in 2013. The banknote comes in blue and purple color combinations and has dimensions of 145 x 71 mm. Its obverse depicts a holographic patch in the form of a diamond, the Old Fourah Bay College building situated in Freetown, and the Sierra Leones emblem. It also displays a portrait of Sengbe Pieh who led a revolt on the Spanish slave ship called La Amistad. The back of the note features the Bumbuna Dam. The Sierra Leona 5,000 leone note carries a StarChrome windowed security thread with demetalized BSL 5000 and a watermark that reflects a lions head, an electrotype 5000, and Cornerstones. This particular banknote comes in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated.
