The Somalia 1,000 Shilling banknote was issued in 1990 by the Central Bank of Somalia for the Puntland Region. The banknote comes in orange, purple, and green combinations and has dimensions of 154 x 76 mm. Featured on the banknotes obverse are two women weaving baskets and mats. It also shows the coat of arms of Somalia. The reverse depicts a city coastline as well as ships and buildings at the Mogadishu port. The banknote bears a watermark that reflects a portrait of Mohammed Abdullah Hassan. Printed by the Pura Group in Indonesia, the note bears the signatures of the bank president Omar Ahmed Omar and cashier Hassan Elmi Barkhadle. This Somalia 1,000 Shilling banknote has been graded 67 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
