This uncirculated 1,000 South Korean won note was introduced in 2007. It is a blue, purple, and green note that measures 136 mm long and 68 mm wide. Its obverse side features a Japanese apricot tree branch and blossoms under the Myungryundang lecture hall building in Daegu and the Confucian scholar Toegye Yi Hwang. Its reverse side shows the Bank of Korea logo and a Gaesang junggeodo watercolor painting of a landscape. Security features include a windowed security thread, a t’aeguk (two-comma roundel) registration device, and a watermark of Toegye Yi Hwang with an electrotype 1000.
