The South Korea 2,000 won banknote from 2018 was issued to commemorate the Winter Olympic Games. Its obverse displays athletes from winter sports events namely biathlon, ice hockey, curling, speed skating, ski jumping, luge, and bobsled. It also bears the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic logo and a snowflake hologram. The Gangwon Province mountain range is also visible on the banknotes obverse. The South Korea 2,000 wons vertical-oriented reverse side features Kim Hong-dos painting Songhamaenghodo which displays a tiger under a pine tree. This 140 x 75 mm paper note has a windowed motion security thread and a PyeongChang Olympic stadium watermark.
