The South Sudan 5 South Sudanese Pounds replacement banknote was issued by the Bank of South in 2015. The obverse side shows a portrait of Dr. John Garang de Mabior (1945-2005), a Sudanese politician and revolutionary leader, and a Dinka warrior spear. The reverse side features the Sanga Juba cattle of the Dinka people. The banknote contains a windowed security thread with demetalized BANK OF SOUTH SUDAN and a watermark that reveals Dr. John Garang de Mabior & Electrotype 5. The banknote is 131 x 65 mm in size. This particular replacement banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
