The Spain 1,000 Pesetas Banknote was issued by the Bank of Spain in 1979. The banknote has hints of green, blue, brown, and purple. The obverse depicts Joaquin Sorolla’s portrait of novelist Benito Perez Galdos and the coat of arms of Spain. The reverse depicts Mount Teide volcano on Tenerife, a map of the Canary Island, a dragon tree, and a handwritten fragment of Benito Perez Galdo’s novel “Zaragoza”, of NatIonal Episodes. The banknote contains a green solid security thread and a watermark that reveals the head of Benito Perez Galdos. The banknote is 138 x 75 mm in size and is signed by Jose Ramon Alvarez Rendueles, Miguel Palazuelo Garcia, and Jesus Urdiola Salvador. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition.
