The Spain 2,000 Peseta banknote was released by the Bank of Spain in 1980. It is in combinations of red, green, and orange. The banknotes obverse depicts a picture of poet Juan Ramon Jimenez and the coat of arms of the country. The back of the note displays the town hall in Moguer which was the birthplace of Juan Ramon Jimenez. It also depicts a handwritten fragment of his poem Baladas de primavera or Spring Ballads. Security features of the 147 x 80 mm banknote include a registration device in the form of a rose, a solid security thread, and a watermark that reflects a portrait of Juan Ramon Jimenez. Additionally, the note also carries the signatures of Rendueles, Palazuelo, and Urdiola. This paper bill comes in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated.
