This uncirculated 1,000 Sri Lankan rupee banknote is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. It is a green banknote that is dated 03 July 2006, bear the signatures of Mahinda Rajapaksa and Ajith Nivard Cabraal, and measures 157 mm x 78 mm. Its obverse side shows a lion holding a whip, Raja, a Sathdantha tusker elephant carrying the relic in Esala Perahera (Festival of the Tooth), and an elephant with a mahout. Its reverse side is vertically oriented and depicts lotus flowers, the Octagon building at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, and two peacocks. Security features include a red-to-green 3-mm StarChrome windowed security thread with SRI LANKA RS 1000 and butterfly and a watermark of a lion holding a whip with an electrotype sword and Cornerstones.
