Reviews:

The Sri Lanka 1,000 Rupees Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka in 2009 to commemorate the ushering of peace and prosperity to Sri Lanka. The banknote has a color combination of blue, yellow, and red and bears English, Sinhala, and Tamil texts. Its obverse features the ears of paddy and Punkalasa on a map with a rising sun behind. It also features President Mahinda Rajapaksa with outstretched arms and a flag. The reverse depicts a tank, a ship, a helicopter, and members of the security forces hoisting the national flag. It also shows the Mavil Aru annicut, Thoppigala rock (Baron’s Cap), and two jet fighters. The banknote contains a 1.2-mm wide windowed ClearText security thread with demetallized CBSL 1000, and a watermark that reveals a lion holding a whip with an electrotype sword, and cornerstones. The banknote is 157 x 78.5 mm in size and is signed by Mahinda Rajapaksa and Ajith Nivard Cabraal. This particular commemorative banknote is in uncirculated condition.
