Sri Lanka 1,000 Rupees Banknote, 2018, P-130a, UNC, Commemorative, TAP 60-70 Authenticated

This uncirculated 1,000 Sri Lankan rupee banknote commemorates the 70th Independence Celebration in 2018. It is a green banknote that is dated 04 February 2018, bear the signatures of Ravi Karunanayake and Indrajit Coomaraswamy, and measures 148 mm x 67 mm. Its obverse side shows a White Four Ring butterfly (Ypthima ceylonica), a church, a mosque, Tamil Kovil, a temple, a Sri Lanka hanging parrot (Loriculus beryllinus), and a lion holding a whip with a sword. Its reverse side is vertically oriented and depicts a Davul Bera drummer and a Malpadaya Netuma dancer, a guard stone (muragala) of a naga-raja holding a sprouting branch and a punkalasa (pot of plenty) beneath a hood of cobra heads, and a stylized Dvithva Iiya vela floral motif. Security features include a 2.5-mm wide red-to-green StarChrome windowed security thread with a demetalized CBSL RS 1000 and a watermark of a parrot with an electrotype 1000 and Cornerstones.
