Sri Lanka 1,000 Rupees Banknote from 2020 with pick number P-127f is in uncirculated (UNC) condition and features the Ramboda tunnel entrance and a Sri Lankan hanging parrot.


The Sri Lanka 1,000 Rupees Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka in 2020. Its obverse side depicts the White Four Ring butterfly, (Ypthima ceylonica), an old rock wall, the new Ramboda Tunnel entrance, a Sri Lankan hanging parrot (Loricus beryllinus), and a lion holding a whip with a sword. Its reverse side is vertically oriented and shows a Davul Bera drummer, a Malpadaya Netuma dancer, and a muragala (guard stone) of a naga-raja holding a sprouting branch and a punkalasa (pot of plenty) beneath a hood of cobra heads with Sankha and Padma at the feet. Security features include a 2.5-wide red-to-green StarChrome windowed security thread with a demetalized CBSL RS 1000 and a watermark of a parrot with an electrotype 1000 and Cornerstones. The note is 148 mm x 67 mm. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition.
