Sri Lanka 2,000 Rupees Banknote from 2006 with pick number P-121b is in uncirculated (UNC) condition and features an elephant procession and the Sigiriya castle ruins.


Sri Lanka 2,000 Rupees Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka in 2006. It has a color combination of light rose and brown and bears English, Sinhala, and Tamil texts. Its obverse features an elephant procession and the Sigiriya (Lion’s Rock) castle ruins in Matale District. It also shows a Sesatha (ceremonial flag). The reverse is in a vertical orientation and features a Sigiriya fresco. The banknote contains a red-to-green 4-mm StarChrome windowed security thread with demetallized SRI LANKA and butterfly. Its watermark reveals a lion holding a whip with an electrotype sword and cornerstones. The banknote is 164 x 82 mm in size and is signed by Mahinda Rajapaksa and Ajith Nivard Cabraal. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition.
