This uncirculated 2 Sri Lankan rupee note is a standard circulation banknote issued by Central Bank of Ceylon’s fauna and flora series. It is a pink and grey-blue note that is dated 1979, bear the signatures of Warnasena Rasaputram and Ronald Joseph Godfrey de Mel, and measures 108 mm × 59 mm. Its obverse side features Black ruby barb (Puntius nigrofasciatus) with rocks in the upper background. Its reverse side shows Tamil lacewing butterfly (Cathosia nietneri nietneri) and Ceylonese tree skink (Dasia haliana) atop a Murraya cleniei plant. Security features include a solid security thread with 1 mm width embedded thin polyester thread and a watermark of a lion standing on hind legs.
