The Sri Lanka 20 Rupees Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Ceylon in 1985. The banknote is in a combination of purple and red. Its obverse features the Moonstone (sandakada pahana) steps from Polonnaruwa Vatadage in Anuradhhapura. The reverse of the banknote is in a vertical orientation and features orchids and the Thuparama Dagoba (temple) in Anuradhapura. The note contains a solid security thread with printed CENTRAL BANK OF CEYLON. It also has a watermark that reveals a lion holding a whip. It measures 137 x 70 mm and is signed by Ronald Joseph Godfrey de Mel and Warnasena Rasaputram. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
