The Sri Lanka 50 Rupee banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka in 1989. It comes in a combination of blue and brown. The obverse of the banknote depicts birds and the Raja Maha Vihare temple in Kelaniya. The reverse of the paper bill features flowers and the headless Buddha statue at the Lankatilaka Vihare shrine in Polonnaruwa. The banknote is 147 x 74 mm in size and bears a solid security thread with a printed CENTRAL BANK OF SRI LANKA. It also carries a watermark that shows a lion holding a whip. This paper bill has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70 and is in uncirculated condition.
