This uncirculated 500 Sri Lankan Rupee note is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. It is a purple note that is dated 2017, bear the signatures of Indrajit Coommaraswamy and Mangala Samaraweera, and measures 143 mm x 67 mm. Its obverse side features the World Trade Center and the Bank of Ceylon headquarters buildings in Colombo, a Ceylon indigo royal butterfly, the ancient Buddhist temple Lankathilaka Viharaya in Kandy, a Sri Lanka emerald-collared parakeet bird and a lion holding a whip with a sword. Its reverse is vertically oriented and features a Yak Bera drummer and Thelme Netuma dancer, a Padmanidhi guard stone, and a stylized Dvithva liya vela floral motif. Security features include a 2-mm wide red-to-green StarChrome windowed security thread with demetallized CBSL RS 500, and a watermark of Parakeet with electrotype 500 and cornerstones.
