The St. Thomas & Prince 50 Dobras Banknote was issued by the Central bank of Sao Tome and Principe in 2016. The green banknote bears Portuguese text. Its obverse features the Banco Central headquarters building in Sao Tome, a charaxes odysseus butterfly, and the coat of arms of Sao Tome and Principe. The reverse depicts a stylized cocoa pod, a butterfly, and a map of Sao Tome and Principe. It also features a Sao Tome Mona monkey on a branch. The note contains a red-to-green windowed security thread with a demetallized BCSTP and a registration device in the form of a butterfly.
