The Suriname 1,000 Gulden banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Suriname in 1963 with a color combination of blue and brown. The banknotes obverse features a portrait of a woman, fruit and vegetables, and a torch with the 1963 banner. The reverse depicts the coat of arms of Suriname showing two native Indians with bows and arrows, and a shield with a sailing ship, a star, and a palm tree. The paper bill is 152 x 66 mm in size and has no security thread but with a watermark that shows a parrots head. This particular Suriname 1,000 Gulden banknote bears the signature of bank president Victor Max de Miranda and is in uncirculated condition.
