The Suriname 25 gulden is part of the banknote series issued in 1988 featuring a Surinamese anti-colonialist author Anton de Kom on its obverse. This 150 x 72 paper banknote that comes in uncirculated condition also depicts buildings, faya lobi flowers, five soldiers holding their rifles, a woman holding a flag, and a star. On the back of the note are a Toucan bird perched on a branch of a tree, a hibiscus, heliconia, and faya lobi blooms. On the right is Anton de Kom in front of a crowd outside his fathers house.
