Its obverse side shows buildings, flags, a portrait of Anton de Kom, a bouquet of faya lobi flowers, a star, five soldiers with rifles, and a woman with a flag. Its reverse side depicts a crowd listening to Anton de Kom outside of his father’s house, a toucan on a branch, hibiscus flowers, heliconia flowers, ginger flowers, and faya lobi flowers.
