The Suriname 5 Gulden banknote was issued in 2000. The multicolored banknote features on the obverse a red-necked woodpecker bird, nymphalid butterflies, a map, trees, and the countrys coat of arms. The banknotes reverse depicts the Central Bank of Suriname headquarters building at the Waterkant in Paramaribo. It also displays passiflora quadrangularis or giant granadilla flowers and the bank seal. The banknote is 140 x 70 mm in size and has a windowed security thread with a demetalized CBVS 5, It also carries a watermark that reflects the bank headquarters and an electrotype CBVS. The note also bears the signature of Hendrick Otmar Goedschalk and a registration device in the form of a bat. This particular Suriname 5 Gulden banknote has been given a grade of 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
