The Tanzania 5,000 Shillings Banknote was issued by the Bank of Tanzania in 2015 ND. This purple banknote features the Tanzanian coat of arms, a plant, and a black rhinoceros on its obverse. The reverse depicts mining machinery, rough and cut diamonds, and a diamond-shaped SPARK patch with a giraffe’s head. It contains a Motion windowed security thread and a watermark that reveals Julius Kambarage Nyerere with an electrotype 5,000.
