Reviews:

The Tanzania 500 Shilingi banknote was issued by the Bank of Tanzania in 2010. The banknotes obverse features the coat of arms of the country and Sheikh Abeid Amani Karume who was the first president of Zanzibar. The banknotes reverse depicts a snake coiling around a stick, graduating students in gowns and caps, and the University of Dar es Salaam central hall building in the background. The banknote also reflects a giraffe. The 120 x 60 mm paper bill carries a watermark that reveals Julius Kambarage Nyerere with an electrotype 500. Printed by Crane, the banknote also bears a motion windowed security thread.
