This uncirculated 500 Thai baht note commemorates the 50th anniversary of Rama IX’s ascension to the throne in 1996. It is a gold and green polymer note that bears the signatures of Bordi Chunnanond and Rerngchai Marakanond. Its obverse side contains the Royal Garuda emblem, the Golden Jubilee logo, a kinnon, a Rama IX hologram, and a portrait of Bhumibol Adulyadej, the 9th King of Thailand (Rama IX). Its reverse side illustrates the development of irrigation systems in Thailand, a Rama IX hologram, and King Bhumibol. Because the note is made of polymer, it does not have a security thread.
