This uncirculated 500 Thai baht banknote is part of the commemorative banknotes issued by the Government of Thailand to celebrate the life of Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) in 2017. It is a purple banknote that is dated BE 2559 (2015), bears the signatures of Mr. Apisak Tantivorawong and Dr. Veerathai Santiprabhob, and measures 156 mm x 72 mm. Its obverse side features the Royal Garuda emblem and a portrait of Rama IX (Bhumibol Adulyadej) wearing the Royal House of Chakri gown. Its reverse side depicts Rama IX pointing to a map on an easel, Rama IX kneeling to irrigate crops with a water can, a boat, Rama IX wearing a camera strap and a sports coat, and the king making an offering of rice. Security features include a holographic stripe, a 4-mm wide green-to-gold RollingStar Cube windowed security thread with a demetalized 500 BAHT in Thai text, and a watermark of Rama IX with an electrotype Thai text.
