This uncirculated 5 Turkish lira banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Turkey in 2009 under the 1970 Law and bears the signatures of Prof. Dr. Sahap Kavcioglu and Ugur Namik Kucuk. It has a tan color scheme and dimensions of 130 mm by 64 mm. Its obverse side features the Father of Modern Turkey Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Its reverse side honors the science historian Aydin Sayili by featuring his portrait, open hands, planets, an atom, and a double-helix DNA chain. Security features include a holographic stripe, a solid security thread with printed TL 5, and a watermark of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk with an electrotype 5.
