This uncirculated 5 Turkish lira banknote is a standard circulation banknote introduced by the Central Bank of Turkey in 2009. It is a purple banknote that is dated 14 January 1970, bears the signature of Dr. Sahap Kavcioglu and Ugur Namik Kucuk, and measures 130 mm x 64 mm. Its obverse side features Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and the star and crescent moon elements of the flag. Its reverse side depicts open hands, planets, an atom, a DNA strand, and the portrait of science historian Aydin Sayili. Security features include a holographic stripe, a solid security thread with printed TL 5, a serial number with an E-prefix, and a watermark of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk with an electrotype 5.
